Entered 4 times won 4 times. That`s Irina`s record at the French Open.

Having first won the French Open in 2008, then again in 2010 and 2011 Irina took the title again this year to make it 4 wins in 4 appearances. This year she defeated Aileen de Graaf from the Netherlands to take the title and to keep her unbeaten run going.

Irina`s place at the Lakeside World Professional Championships has been confirmed and also she will be the 4th seed at the event. A just reward for a hard year`s work and travel.

With a 3rd place at the Open Antwerp Irina should have done enough to qualify for the Lakeside World Professional in January.

With 3 players battling it out for 2 remaining spots to qualify automatically and with just 3 possible events to go, Antwerp was going to very important for all 3 ladies as it was the last remaining event from Category B. Trina Gulliver needed to at least make the final to keep her chances alive, something she failed to do, losing her first game. Irina took advantage of that and by finishing 3rd, losing out to Anastasia 5 - 4 in the semi finals. The 3rd place added a further 2 points to her total and places her now in a certain place for Lakeside.

The 3rd lady, Lorraine Farlham, suffered some misfortune on the day before and was unable to attend but with Trina missing out, Lorraines fortunes changed and it looks as though she has too qualified.

June was a very busy month this year. Besides the German Masters event, Irina also played in the BDO International Open where she lost in the last 8 to the eventual winner, Deta Hedman, the English Open where she lost in the last 4 to the eventual winner, Anastasia Dobromyslova, and in the Granite City Open where she was runner up losing again to Deta Hedman.

These results have proven good for Irina in all the ranking tables that matter. First in the German rankings, second in the WDF world rankings and in the first qualifying place in the BDO Lakeside Invitation table. With only a few events left a return to Lakeside is looking good although some work is still needed as it is all very close.
