Been so busy lately I haven`t had the time to update the site, but better late than never so here goes:

Zuiderduin Masters:

Irinas first `major` and quite an enjoyable experience. Didn`t really perform at all but it was just so different from all other tournaments to date. Irina and her first opponent , Francis Hoenselaar, both practised so well in the VIP room before their match but it didn`t quite happen for them on the stage. A win is a win never the less so Irina was happy with the result despite a not so good game by either of them.

The second match was pretty much the same as the first but the main difference was that against Francis Irina hit her doubles. Whilst scoring better against Julie Gore in the second game, missing her doubles cost her dearly as Julie made no such mistake.

Julie went on to win the event overall, so well done to her.

Lakeside 2010:

It was a hard slog to qualify, so Irina was very happy to have made it there in the first place.

Maybe the occasion, maybe over training, maybe something else but it wasn`t Irinas best performance but a great experience all the same. At the end of the day it was Irinas debut on the great stage and if she manages to qualify again for 2011 the experience gained this year will count a lot.

Dutch Open 2010:

5th in the singles and losing finalist in the ladies pairs this was actually Irinas best year todate at the largest open event in the world. Reaching the finals day for the 4th time in the last 5 years would look good on anyones resume.

The singles went well on saturday even losing in the last 4 on the day ( last 8 overall ) she played well. Lisa Ashton proving just too strong in the last leg of the 3 - 2 defeat.

In the pairs she and Karin Krappen played well all day on Thursday to reach the final on Sunday but Trina Gulliver was inspired in the final and proved the main defifference between the two pairs.
